Doris was born in Lima, Peru. She studied at the National University of San Marcos and obtained a Bachelors in education with an emphasis in languages. In addition, Doris also studied at the Cultural American Institute in Peru´s capital. From 1995 until the year 2013, she worked as a classroom teacher in elementary, middle and high school. Upon arriving in the United States (U.S) her professional work includes working with Mis Amigos and worked as a lead teacher with pre-kindergarten students. She enjoys very much sporting activities like swimming, and is delighted to join ISLA this year and will be working as a Response to Intervention (RTI) Math Specialist.
