Session Activities


ISLA will have the following sessions for the upcoming year:
Fall: September 29-December 19 (12 weeks)
Winter: January 5-March 27 (12 weeks)
Spring: April 6-May 22 (7 weeks)

Class pricing for extracurriculars is based on the number of classes in each session, with a sliding fee scale and discounts available for school volunteers. Families who receive reduced price meals based on the Educational Benefits Form will receive a 50% discount for all ISLA extra-curricular activities and those who qualify for free meals will receive a 75% discount. Classes that are sponsored by outside organizations unfortunately do not carry these discounts (indicated by a star).If a student is already enrolled in Aventuras after care on the day of the club they are registering for, their registration will be 50% off. Alternatively, a family may pay the Aventuras change fee to cancel Aventuras and pay the full price for the extracurricular, with an expected pick-up at 5:15.

Percussion Club

Percussion Club is for 2nd-5th grade students who are interested in exploring beats and rhythms! Students will learn about and play a variety of instruments, while developing musicianship skills as individuals and as a group. Craft Club

The goal of the Craft Club is to provide students with a creative space where they can explore their imagination, develop artistic skills, and express their ideas through different handmade projects. This club aims to foster creativity and teamwork, allowing students to experiment with various materials and techniques. In addition, it promotes appreciation for art and the reuse of resources, encouraging originality and confidence in each student’s creative abilities.Throughout the sessions, students will enjoy making Carnival masks, mini piñatas, paper flowers, colorful bracelets, or lanterns, while discovering cultural traditions from the Spanish-speaking world.

We’ll warm up with whimsical Winter Birdhouses and a festive birthday cake; perfect projects to spark imagination. Budding artists will take on dynamic challenges like a bold Palm Tree Scene, adorable penguins full of personality, and a Young Rembrandts take on Grant Wood’sAmerican Gothic. We are happy to announce our Traditional Spanish Games Club, where children will explore Spain’s rich cultural heritage through movement and play. In each session, students will learn and enjoy classic outdoor games such as El pañuelo, La comba (jump rope), Policías y ladrones (cops and robbers), and many more.These activities help children stay active while developing coordination, teamwork, and respect for others.
