Transportation Update

Hello busing families! We’d like to provide a quick busing update now that we’re a few weeks into the year. Six of our nine routes are running very smoothly! Unfortunately, the other three have had quite a few bumps to work out. The school and the transportation committee are working as hard as we can with the bus company to get the last issues addressed and get ALL routes running smoothly. We are so thankful for your reporting of issues and for the endurance that you’ve shown! Last but not least, the bus company is in the process of obtaining gps for the buses/app with the hopes of having them up and running the end of October. We will keep you updated as that date gets finalized, but it is on the horizon. Please reach out to transportation@isla.school with any questions or concerns!

2022 Theme: End racism. Build peace.

Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on September 21st. This year more than ever we need to reflect on our work of developing inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. With this in mind, as is our ISLA tradition, tomorrow we are joining in solidarity with IB schools from around the world to recognize this day.

Since our school picture day tomorrow coincides with the International Day of Peace we will ask our school community to wear white tops on Tuesday, September 27th. We will be taking our traditional all-school peace symbol photo for the first time in our new school.

Let's continue the work towards ending racism and building peace together as a united ISLA community!

Please include your child’s name, class, and the problem to be fixed on the retake. If you choose to do a retake, the original photos will not be available for printing.

In addition, you will be able to order this year’s All-School Photo as a 20x30 poster, an 11x14 print, or as a mug. It’s an ISLA tradition!
