ISLA is an International Baccalaureate world school. The International Baccalaureate (or IB) helps us all to be global citizens and has 12 attributes to show this. Included in these attributes is respect, cooperation, empathy and integrity. We have heard from our business neighbors that ISLA parents are taking up their valuable parking spaces for their business during our pick up times. Please be respectful of our neighbors and not park in their lots during pick up time.
Slow Road Photo will be at ISLA tomorrow, Friday, September 13th. Students are not required to wear uniforms. They may wear an outfit of your choice. Your photos will be available for viewing on October 3rd. Picture retakes will be on October 25th.
As an International Baccalaureate World School, we celebrate el Dia Internacional de la Paz as a special day at ISLA! Our innovative teachers are hard at work planning learning engagements to help students connect their current lines of inquiry to the concept of peace. All students will participate in a collaborative art installation, and we will continue our tradition of taking a schoolwide photo forming a peace sign together. Please send your child(ren) to school in a white shirt on Friday, September 20th. Click here for more information about International Day of Peace, including resources and ideas on how you can participate and take action at home.
Welcome back ISLA families! We hope your start to school has been smooth and refreshing! It certainly feels like there is a special sparkle in the air around campus! The Fundraising Committee of the ISLA school board has been very busy this summer getting our 2024-2025 School Year Giving Tree ready (maybe you saw it at Meet the Teacher?). This Friday, you should all receive a handout in your red folders with more information about this year's Giving Tree, and you can also track progress virtually here as we work towards our goal of raising $145,000! Thanks to a few early and generous donors, we are well on our way to reaching our goal! As always, we welcome any questions or concerns by email at fundraising@isla.school.

Thank you so much to our AMAZING PTO Chair, Jenner Moretto for all of her work over the past few years to build the PTO to fit the new vision & needs as ISLA grew into a larger community, supporting more LAs, more teachers, more parents… More everything!! While we are so grateful to lean on Jenner for SO much support, we also must acknowledge that her youngest will be aging out of ISLA in the coming years. While we are SO lucky to have an absolutely overflowing PTO Board this year, we do know that a spot or two MAY be opening as we look into the NEXT years. If you are interested in finding out more about what this PTO Board is all about at ISLA, please reach out to Jenner at ptochair@isla.school to find out about potential opportunities to shadow our goofy team!! No obligation, but I bet you’ll learn a lot about our school and maybe even have some fun while you hang out with this crazy bunch of parents.
