Kim Meierjurgen has worked in education since 2013, primarily within elementary settings at an international school based out of Quito, Ecuador. During her tenure, Kim focused her efforts on best practices in social-emotional learning and worked to train families and faculty in philosophies such as Responsive Classroom and Conscious Discipline. As she settles into Minnesota life, Kim is excited to join the ISLA team, supporting student social-emotional development as the Director of Student Wellbeing. Kim is passionate about family engagement, trauma-informed practices, inclusive climates, and striving for excellence in education. In addition to her training in social-emotional philosophies, Kim holds a Bachelor of Science from Houghton University, a Master of Arts from Buffalo State University and certifications in early childhood, special education, elementary education, and TEFL.
